Aviation has a long tradition in the canton of Glarus. The most recent to benefit from this expertise is the helicopter industry, which has made its home in the canton. The new helicopter cluster is now showcasing helicopter competence, giving the industry a strong tailwind.

According to Andreas Gafner, Swiss Skyways Services, the helicopter cluster "can give an outside company training for pilots, flights, helicopter platforms, poles and everything around helicopters."
